DSi Consoles

Nintendo DSi Consoles

The Nintendo DSi is the third edition of the revolutionary handheld gaming tool from Nintendo.  Scheduled for release in the UK in April 2009, beware this spring for the ultimate experience in portable gaming.

Continuing the proud Nintendo DS tradition, this console doesn’t disappoint in terms of explosive gaming.  Remarkable graphics combined with phenomenal game-play make this the best handheld unit on the market.  The DSi is unique however for its two digital cameras which are located on the upper part of the handset.  These carry the ability to take pictures, capture video and modify photos that you have already uploaded.  The DSi cameras allow you to capture moments on the move and then re-create them with Nintendo’s very own personal in design software – DsiWare.

Thinner and lighter than the previous Nintendo DS design, the Gameboy Advance game port has been removed to increase portability and reduce weight.  Under the influence of requested from seasoned gamers, the screen has also been widened for a better gaming experience making the DSi console that slight bit longer that the older editions.

Upon release in Japan, the stunned public have voiced their opinions in the form of many approving DSi reviews, wetting the appetite of everyone around the globe.  Although you wont be able to buy the Nintendo DSi console until April at the earliest, many expectant fans have already placed orders ensuring that they get the first taste of the action when it finally hits UK stores.

Black or White DSi

The launch of the Nintendo DSi back in November was the moment that first stirred the excitement of gamers the world over.  After weeks of muttering as a short announcement at a conference in October, the day had finally come to see the new model – which certainly didn’t disappoint.

The new stunning polished exterior of the DSi was more comparable to a futuristic laptop computer, rather than a handheld games console.  In a year where sleek has triumphed, Nintendo seemed to have joined the bandwagon replicating a thin, slim model.

The colour of the DSi console is either a matte Black or a gleaming White finish.  Seemingly taking tips from a certain American cousin, the new dual coloured design is simply stunning, adding perhaps the final touch needed to the DS range.

Suitable for either kids or adults, the colour of the DSi has the unique quality of being universally attractive.  Although the range of colour so heavily associated with Nintendo’s products has finally disappeared, it is certainly for the better. Both the white DSi and Black DSi are ready made models and do not have the stigma attached to removable cases that can often prove brittle under pressure.

What ever your fancy, the look of the new Nintendo DSi is one that makes you step back and admire, and as long as you can get your hands on one – it doesn’t matter if its Black or White.

About Nintendo

The Nintendo brand is, simply put, the biggest in handheld games consoles.  Anyone born from 1980 onwards is likely to have had a Game Boy of some description at a juncture in their lives.  Developed and grown in Japan, Nintendo is still responsible for making some of the most popular games consoles on the planet, most recently the Nintendo Wii and the Nintendo DSi.

Originating in latter period of the 19th century, Nintendo actually began as a company that made playing cards.  It was here in which the brand developed its inquisitive nature for invention, trialling products such as the love tester.

It was in 1980 however, where the Nintendo brand really took off, upon the release of their first handheld games console – The Game and Watch.  Five years after switching to electronics they had finally released a console, which proved popular all over the world.  In 1989 Nintendo launched the Game Boy, which over time became the most successful chain of consoles ever seen.  The success of the Game boy was followed by a number of additions to the Nintendo family, including the Super Nintendo, the Game Cube and The Nintendo 64.

In recent times Nintendo has reverted to more traditional consoles, revelling in the success of the groundbreaking Nintendo Wii Controller, however has remained true to its handheld fans with the Nintendo DS series.  The father of Super Mario and Donkey Kong, Nintendo is built in to the culture of anyone alive today in the western world, and we await the arrival of the Nintendo DSi.
