Since the announcement of the arrival of Nintendo DSi back in October 2008, everyone has been speculating about the introduction of a fascinating new feature to the back of the console. Although glad to welcome the extra screen space and the lighter model, it is the installation of two little eyes that have had us quivering with anticipation. These are of course the new DSi cameras.
Although the console is already being paraded in Japan, we in the UK must wait until April 2009 before we get our hands on the Nintendo DSi, and begin to fully examine the two new DSi cameras.
Similar to a mobile phone the DSi cameras are embedded on the flip side of the console, therefore not interrupting or interfering with any game-play. Although rolling in at a somewhat unimpressive 0.3 mega-pixels, these two little ‘eyes’ are more than capable of taking great shots when you are out and about with your DSi. Also, the fun doesn’t end at simply taking photographs. Due to genius in-built software, you can have hours of entertainment messing around with your photos, changing colours, adding love hearts, replacing boring backgrounds or cropping and pasting into other photos. This ability to edit or distort photos is yet another facet of the Nintendo DSi’s entertainment quality that makes it such a rewarding buy.
Available in Black or White the DSi is available to buy from April 3, however most reputable electrical stores are already pre-ordering in their thousands.
